A native of Silverton, Oregon, I grew up in a multi-disciplined creative environment with a graphic designer/fine artist father who was a true lover of beauty and concise communications, whether it be in art, design or music. It is all about 'the hook' that catches the senses. This influence propelled me to study music and to tour the world playing drums for some of the northwest's biggest acts before joining the world of commercial graphic and color design for product and brand in 2006. I have worked for some of the world's top footwear and apparel brands while still maintaining a healthy family life and music and fine art career.Feel free to reach out for collaborations, learn more about me or just shoot the shit. I am an artist, vintage reseller, and freelance interior designer + copywriter based out of Portland, Oregon. I’m inspired by environments, built or natural, and will always be drawn to things that feel personal, whimsy, and cheeky - like a little wink. I’m currently accepting commissions for paintings, interior and personal design + sourcing, copywriting projects, or whatever else you’d like to collaborate on. James Coffman is an artist and designer whose creations delve deep into the roots of humanity, drawing on universal emotions that transcend country, culture, or language. His work reflects fundamental elements such as the sun, moon, people, animals, and natural events—motifs that resonate with the primal instincts embedded within us all since the dawn of mankind.
